Jude, a brother of James, writes a short and urgent letter calling believers to "earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." It warns of ungodly teachers who had crept in unnoticed, and it summons examples from Israel's history to show God's judgment on unbelief.
Its single chapter and 25 verses move from warning to doxology: believers are to "build up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost" (Jude 1:20) and "keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life" (Jude 1:21), while God is able "to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy" (Jude 1:24).
