How today’s verse is chosen
The verse is not hand-picked and not random at page load. It is derived from the date by a fixed, published calculation: the day number is combined with a constant for the translation, and the result selects one of the 31,102 verses.
That means anyone, anywhere, loading this page on the same date gets the same verse — and you can link to it and know it will not change under you until midnight UTC.
