What you can do with a verse
- Copy it with the reference, ready to paste anywhere.
- Share it to X, Facebook, WhatsApp or email.
- Turn it into an image for Pinterest, Instagram or your phone wallpaper.
- Read the surrounding verses so it is not taken out of context.
Every verse links to its own page, so the one you are reading right now is shareable and will load the same verse for anyone you send it to.
Frequently asked questions
Is the verse really random?
Yes. The draw uses the browser’s cryptographic random source over all 31,102 verses, with exactly equal odds — no “popular verses” weighting.
Can the same verse come up twice?
It can. The draw is uniform and there is no repeats suppression, so a verse may appear twice in a row. That is a feature of honest randomness, not a bug.
Can I pick a specific book or chapter?
Not on this page — it is deliberately bare. For a filtered draw, use the random Bible verse generator, which narrows the pool to one testament, book or chapter.
Can I use the verse commercially?
The King James Version (1769) is public domain in the United States, so the wording may be reproduced freely. Rights may differ outside the U.S.
